Dehumanization: The Ancient Pattern Fueling Today’s Violence

Ascended Warrior — Soul Codes for a Shifting World

Dehumanization is one of the oldest and most destructive patterns in human history — and it’s resurfacing again in our modern world. As violence rises across the globe, understanding this ancient shadow is essential for anyone walking a conscious, heart-centered path.

This blog expands on a powerful two-part episode of Ascended Warrior, exploring what dehumanization really is, why humans fall into it, how it derails the soul’s evolution, and what lightworkers must do now to break the cycle.

Opening the Space

Before diving into heavy topics, it’s important to ground yourself.
Take a deep breath.
Imagine a circle of light forming in your heart and expanding around your body.

This episode — and this blog — asks you to stay open, compassionate, and connected to your higher awareness. Every group on Earth has been harmed by dehumanization in some form. Many of us carry inherited wounds, karmic imprints, and ancestral memories of these experiences.

Today, we walk into that history with clarity instead of fear.

What Dehumanization Really Is

Dehumanization is the act of stripping away another person’s humanity so that harm against them feels justified. Once you label a group as “less than,” almost anything becomes permissible — violence, slavery, erasure, humiliation, exploitation, even genocide.

This pattern is not new. It’s as old as humanity itself.

Early tribes used dehumanization as a survival tactic:
“Our group is good. Their group is dangerous.”
Fear and propaganda fanned these beliefs until people could commit atrocities they would never consider otherwise.

You see it everywhere in ancient history:

  • Women deemed “less than” from the story of Eve
  • Romans calling conquered people “barbarians” or “animals”
  • Crusaders labeling Muslims “infidels” to justify holy war
  • Witch trials that weaponized fear against powerful women
  • Enslavement of African peoples by calling them subhuman

Whenever someone becomes a category instead of a person, dehumanization has begun.

How Religion, Politics, and Power Used This Pattern

Dehumanization has been used by leaders and institutions for thousands of years because it works.

If you can convince people that another group is not fully human, you don’t have to convince them to hate — their fear will take over on its own.

This pattern allowed:

  • empires to conquer,
  • religions to control narratives,
  • governments to justify violence,
  • societies to enslave, exclude, or erase entire populations.

The tactic hasn’t changed — only the language has.

Modern Dehumanization: More Subtle, Just as Dangerous

Many like to believe that humanity has evolved past this.
But we still use labels every single day that reduce human beings to threats:

  • “Illegals”
  • “Terrorists”
  • “Radicals”
  • “Criminals”
  • “Animals”

Each label strips away complexity, identity, trauma, culture, soul, and humanity. It creates emotional distance, making it easier for society to ignore suffering or justify harm.

Fear thrives in simplicity.
Dehumanization gives fear an easy target.

The Psychology of Dehumanization

In psychology, dehumanization triggers a switch in the brain.

Experiments show that when one group is labeled “prisoners” and another “guards,” people quickly begin treating each other as less than human — even if everyone knows it’s a simulation.

The moment a person believes someone is “not like them,” empathy switches off.

Once empathy is gone, cruelty becomes disturbingly easy.

The Spiritual Consequences: A Trap for the Soul

Spiritually, dehumanization is even more dangerous.

According to ancient teachings, there are seven stages of human ascension. At each stage, we can choose the higher path — or take a detour that pulls us off course. Dehumanization is one of the most powerful deviations on that tree of evolution.

Why?

Because it is rooted in:

  • survival instinct
  • conformity
  • fear
  • propaganda
  • inherited trauma

Many souls incarnated today have fallen into this trap in past lives — on both sides.
We have been the victims and the participants.

This is why the pattern feels so familiar and so emotionally charged.

Why This Matters Right Now

We are seeing global violence rise again — political attacks, shootings, extremist acts, fear-based narratives — and the energy mirrors the post-9/11 landscape.

Fear is increasing.
Labels are increasing.
Division is increasing.

And with every label, empathy declines.

This is the moment where spiritual beings, lightworkers, and conscious leaders must not fall back into the same karmic loop.

We cannot afford to take that detour again.

The Lightworker Response

Breaking the pattern doesn’t start globally — it starts inside each of us.

To end dehumanization, we must:

  • Stay disciplined in our thoughts and words
  • Refuse to participate in “us vs. them” thinking
  • Recognize every soul as sovereign
  • Hold compassion even when fear rises
  • Use our voice consciously and with intention
  • Anchor light where darkness is trying to spread
  • Remember that labels are not truth

Your voice and frequency matter more than you realize.
Fearful people scatter their energy.
Awakened souls focus it.

And focused light is always stronger than unfocused fear.

Holding the Line

We are here for this moment.

We are here to bring light into shadow, not join the shadow.

We are here to remember unity where others are taught to forget it.

We are here to discipline our energy, hold compassion, and keep our hearts open — even when it is hard.

Consciousness is not passive.
Love is not passive.
Compassion is not weakness.
It is alignment with your higher self.

This is the call for all spiritual beings right now:

Hold the line.
Stay awake.
Remember who you are.
And remember who others are, beneath the labels.

We can do this — together.

Love and light.

Ascended Warrior: Soul Codes for a Shifting World Topic: Starseeds, disclosure, and what it means for our awakening Host: Chris Alyssia

Opening

Welcome to Ascended Warrior: Soul Codes for a Shifting World. This is your sacred space to awaken, align, and rise in your purpose. Welcome back. I’m your host, Chris Alysia, and today’s episode is a deeply important one. This is part one of a two-part series. There is so much happening in the world right now that we need to talk about, especially as spiritual beings. Throughout history, humanity has had a tendency to dehumanize one another. We strip away someone’s humanity to justify harm, control, dominance, and even extinction. The rising violence we’re seeing today is directly tied to this ancient pattern – this legacy karma left from generations of dehumanization. Today, we’re looking at why humans dehumanize, how this shows up historically and spiritually, and what it means for us now. Next week, we’ll expand into how this connects to the rise in global violence, extremism, and collective fear. Before we begin, settle into your heart. Take a deep breath. Imagine a circle of light forming in your heart and expanding around your body. Let it surround you in protection and clarity. This is the energy we hold as we enter this conversation.

Dehumanization Through History

Dehumanization goes back to the very beginning. Early humans used it as a survival mechanism: “our tribe good, that tribe bad.” Fear and propaganda made it easy to justify violence, enslavement, and the erasure of entire groups. You see this in ancient texts, like the story of Eve being created from Adam’s rib – setting women as “less than” from the very beginning. You see it in Rome, where conquered people were labeled barbarians, animals, or property. You see it across the Crusades, witch trials, colonization, slavery, and global wars. Once people were labeled “less than,” anything became justified. And we still do this today.

Dehumanization in the Modern World

We dehumanize out of fear, pain, or the desire to blame someone for our suffering. Terms like “illegals,” “terrorists,” “radicals,” and “criminals” strip away the complexity and sacredness of the human soul. As someone who worked in counterterrorism, I’ve seen firsthand how assigning a label like “terrorist” completely shuts off empathy. We stop asking why something happened. We stop caring about context. We follow the narrative, the fear, the propaganda. Psychologically, dehumanization is a powerful switch. Even kind, compassionate people can become cruel when they believe someone is “less than.”

The Spiritual Trap

Spiritually, dehumanization is an even bigger trap. There are seven stages of ascension, and at every stage, dehumanization can knock us off our soul path. Many souls alive today have fallen into this trap in past lives – on both sides. We have been the dehumanized, and we have been the ones who looked away or participated. This is why today’s world feels so dangerous. We can feel ourselves sliding back into the same energetic place we were after 9/11: fear, anger, labeling, division. As spiritual beings, we cannot afford to go down that road again. We must be disciplined in our thoughts, our words, and our frequency. We must remember: we are all sovereign souls. No label – race, gender, religion, citizenship, political identity – defines our true essence.

The Importance of Holding Compassion

We are souls having a human experience, and everything we say and think either expands our consciousness or restricts it. This is why compassion is not optional. Consciousness is not optional. We must hold the line. Push light into the spaces where fear is trying to dominate. Refuse to dehumanize – even when it’s hard, even when we’re hurting. Because the rise of violence we’re seeing today is directly connected to this pattern. Fear is contagious. People are boiling over like the “frog in boiling water” metaphor – reacting through hatred, anger, and violence. But our frequency, when disciplined, is stronger than fear. Your voice, your energy, your compassion can move mountains.

Staying Awake and Heart-Centered

Stay awake. Stay heart-centered. Remember the sovereignty in everyone involved – perpetrators, victims, leaders, media. Every one of them is a soul. Spread light. Be conscious. Hold the line. We can do this. We can do this together. Until next week, my beautiful beings of light – love and light.
