On almost every media outlet, people from all walks of life say that they support veterans.

But are Veterans really being taken care of in our country?

Veterans face skyrocketing rates of unemployment, homelessness, alcoholism, substance abuse, and post-traumatic stress.

This had led to 22 suicides a day among veterans—an unfathomable number.

If you truly want to help veterans heal, actions speak louder than words.

This article gives you three suggestions for supporting veterans. Let’s check them out.

Sponsor a Warrior

Many veterans find healing through spiritual awakening.

At Ascended Warrior, we are a community of veterans that work together to discover our life purpose, improve our relationships, and awaken to our spiritual divine blueprint.

By sponsoring a warrior, you can help to put veterans on the right track, especially if they are in a time of financial distress.

The sponsorship program allows for individuals and companies to support a veteran or first responder in the Ascended Warrior mentorship program.

Volunteer Your Time and Services

One of the best ways to support a veteran is offering your special skills to make their lives easier.

Whether you have:

  • IT skills
  • Tax preparation training
  • Medical training

You can make a difference in veterans’ lives by using your knowledge and training for those who have limited financial resources to pay for that assistance.

When it comes to veterans who have given so much for you, take time how you can consider giving back; even if it’s in a small way.

Take Time to Listen

Whether you are struggling with your relationship with a loved one or encountering a veteran on the street, one of the best things you can do is take time to truly listen.

Many relationships are strained between veterans and their loved ones because they feel socially isolated.

Opening your heart to the stories of veterans can change your perspective and allow you to sympathize more deeply with this neglected population.

Conclusions

Veterans in the United States must be better taken care of; we cannot continue to lose 22 of our warriors to suicide every day.

By taking steps to support veterans, we can hope that number will decline.
